My dear readers,
1. “The Joy-Propagating Enterprise”
In two days’ time (14 September 2007) I shall be winging my way to the “Sunshine state of Australia”, Queensland, on business for my King. There is no happier business than mine, which only those engaged in it can appreciate, for it is a “joy propagating enterprise.” The “Giver of Life” is my “Chairman and Master.” He called me into His service about seventy years ago. From that day, I have not turned back, for serving Jesus is with “joy unspeakable and full of glory.”
My first stop is Brisbane, capital of Queensland. There my host, Rev Hien Nguyen heads this latest “Joy-Propagating Enterprise” – the 6th Bible –Presbyterian Church “Down Under,” under Mother Church, True Life BPC, Singapore.
2. I have “Joy unspeakable” serving the King
Nothing gives me greater joy than to have a part in this soul-saving industry. Pastor Hien (pronounced Heen) had earlier declined an offer to pastor a church in USA. The Lord had work for him in Australia: the call came loud and clear, so he is now settled in the new Church.
My ministry in Brisbane will spread over two days:
I) Saturday 15 Sept 07 Bible Seminar 3.00 – 6.30 pm
Noah’s
Flood and Its Implications
II) Lord’s Day 16 Sept 07 2.00 – 5.00 pm
a) Ready for His
Return
b) Japanese War Years
Readers, especially in Calvary Pandan, will read with delight that former Pandanites Eric and Linda Too are serving in Brisbane BP Church, in a happy partnership with Pastor Hien. Starting a new Gospel Work has thrills and joys known only to those who dare to “launch out into the deep” for the Lord. Someone who should be lending a helping hand is my young and faithful friend Walter Wei, whom I hope to see there.
I shall also be visiting Dr Carl Wieland of Creation Science to explore the possibility of starting a course in elementary marine fish biology among our children and youths.
3. Our newfound friend prepared of God
Pastor Hien says, “I was praying and looking for a church building to hire for our meetings when I passed by this nice-looking St Johns Presbyterian Church. I introduced myself to the Pastor Paul Seiler. I made known my purpose. He turned out to be also a Bible-believing “man of God.” He welcomed me to use the beautiful facility on Sunday afternoon, which we have done for almost one year now.
Thank God for preparing a good man for the advancement of His holy Kingdom. Pastor Peter Clements (now in Darwin sheltering from the winter rigor of Cootamundra) says, “Pastor Seiler is a sound Bible-preaching pastor, a good man.” I am looking forward to meeting him, and of course, our BP folks from Singapore.
Sunday 23 September as you read my “Gospel Travelogue” I shall be in Melbourne, ministering at Ebenezer’s 8th Anniversary. Forget not to pray as I fight the Lord’s battles.
4. “Biblical Missions in perilous Times –
II”,
(Continuing where we left off on 16 September 2007)
In 1994 and 1997, by two epochal declarations, Evangelicalism publicly capitulated to the master deceiver, to tell the world that the faith of our fathers, hardwon with the blood of the martyrs over five hundred years is no more relevant, but now “Evangelicals and Catholics are Together.” By a stroke of the pen the Gospel of Jesus Christ was signed over to the custody of Mother Rome. What ecumenical evangelicalism had quietly practised for decades was formally and publicly acknowledged.
Dr Billy Graham’s universalistic dream of years was telecast May 31, 1997, when over television Southern California, he told the world that God was calling people out of various religions, and that all faiths lead to God. This New Christianity will carry the Church into the Third Millennium. The adversary has scored a major victory, no thanks to Billy Graham.
The most holy faith must be re-defined
In the midst of the prevailing deception and confusion in Christendom, it is needful for us who stand with our Lord and the Apostles to define anew what we hold to be the faith of the Gospel, the “most holy faith.” For this we turn to God’s Word, the King James Bible, our one source of truth.
What says the Head of the Church?
Heed our Lord Jesus’ words, “Enter ye in at the strait gate … because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matt 7:13,14). That “strait gate” is Jesus Christ our Lord. He says, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved …” (Jn 10:9). “I am the way … no man cometh unto the Father, but by me …he that hath seen me hath seen the Father … Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me” (Jn 14:6, 9, 11).
5. Then we must also refer to the Apostolic writing
The Apostle Peter, exalting the name of Jesus declared: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
The Apostle Paul: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Tim 2:5). And he says: “I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified ... For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God” (1 Cor 2:2; 1:8). (To be continued)
Lovingly in the Lord
