GOD CREATED ANGELS
Angelic beings were created on the first day when the Bible said in Genesis 1:1 ,  “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” They are perfect and without sin. They are all ministering spirits created to serve God. They are powerful creatures and were created individually. They cannot procreate and therefore the number of angels God created on the first day remains the same. It could be that billions or at least millions of angelic beings were created. They have ranking like soldiers in the army. Hence the word ‘archangel” is used in the Bible (see Jude 1:9 ). Like all of God’s creations, all angelic beings were created good and had no sin in them so that at the end of the sixth day after God had created all things, He declared that all was very good. If sin had occurred during these brief six days, then God would not have declared that His creations were “very good.”
Fallen Angels – Some angels fell in sin while they were in heaven. It all began with Lucifer (“morning star”) desiring to be like God his Creator. [Note: he successfully tempted Eve into sin in the Garden of Eden with this same desire.] Isaiah 14:12-14 says, “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.” This was spoken by Christ in Luke 10:18 ,  “And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” When Satan [“adversary”] fell, he took with him one third of the angelic beings that God created. Revelation 12:4 ,  “And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.”
Unlike mankind, which was based upon the federal headship principle whereby Adam represented all mankind so that when he fell all mankind fell with him, the angelic beings were created individually. This means that when Satan fell from heaven, one third of the angelic beings chose to fall with Satan independently. They had no one to blame but themselves. They chose to fall independently and without any opportunity of redemption since Jesus Christ did not die for angels! They will remain in this sate of “fallen-ness” forever.
The chief fallen angel is Lucifer and he has many demons and sinful people doing his evil biding. Lucifer has many “names”. He has been called in the Bible “Beelzebub” [lord of the flies or dung god]; “angel of light”, “Devil” (“slanderer”), “father of lies”, “prince of this world”, “accuser of the brethren”, “dragon”, “serpent”, and others. All these names reveal to us that Satan is no insignificant fool dressed in red holding a pitched fork and sporting a cheeky smirk on his reddish face. This caricature of Satan was probably engineered by Satan himself for he is the prince of this world. With this silly caricature, mankind has been lulled into a sense of false security thinking that all is well with life as long as this red devil is not part of it. As a deceiver of the brethren, Satan can make mankind believe that a lie is truth! He is a mastermind of lies and deception. He can appear as an angel of light and so can his followers. They can masquerade as pastors, elders, deacons, seminary professors, church members, prominent leaders of groups and teachers of the Bible, and all the time they are actually agents of Satan. They will draw men after themselves, and will cause them to attack God’s perfect Word believing that they are doing God’s will as they do it.
The only way to identify such agents of Satan would be to know the perfect Bible. Anything else is deceptive and subjective. The appearance of a “soft” demeanor, speaking soft words with a smile on our faces does not equal having humility, a gentle spirit and definitely not godliness. The Bible warns us that the False Prophet who will assist the Antichrist in the last days will be a soft spoken person with a gentle (like a lamb) appearance. Listen very carefully to his soft spoken words with gentleness oozing from every pore of his smiley face but check his words against the perfect Word of God and you will find that they are lies and deceptions. Revelation 13:11 says, “And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.”
These followers of Satan can even quote Scriptures and also scream “thus saith the LORD.” They have only one agenda and that is to deceive the gullible and naïve who do not know God’s perfect Word. These false-Christs will even “authenticate” their deceptions with great signs and wonders. Matthew 24:24 , “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
The punishment of Satan and his fallen angels (demons) and the followers of Satan is assured. They will all be punished in the Lake of Fire for all eternity. Revelation 20:10 ,  “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” No one will escape the judgement of God even though they might escape the judgement of men in this life.
Jude 1:6 ,  “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.” Who are these angels who did not keep their estate and have been kept “in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgement of the great day”? Could these be the fallen angels who fell from heaven as mentioned above? If this verse of the Bible refers to them, then there should not be any demonic activities on this earth, in the past as well as in the present and future. But we know that is not true because Satan was very active in his temptation of Job (see Job 1 and Job 2 ) as well as in the temptation of Christ. There is only one other incident in the Bible which could very well be the incident Jude was referring to. The most likely incident would be the “sons of God” mentioned in Genesis 6 . They were the demons who possessed humans and married the daughters of men.
Christians will judge angels in the future. These would include the fallen angels or demons that God will send to the Lake of Fire on the last day. 1 Corinthians 6:3 ,  “Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?” While we are on earth be aware that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces in high places. Ephesians 6:12 ,  “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Good Angels – Michael and Gabriel are the more well-known angelic beings. They are archangels. They continue to be ministers of God, doing God’s bidding. For example, the angel Gabriel was sent by God to Zecharias, father of John the Baptist, to bring God’s revelation that his son was to be called John and the forerunner of Christ. Luke 1:19 , “And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.” In the same chapter of Luke, we are told that Gabriel was sent to reveal to the virgin Mary that she was chosen by God to be the bearer of baby Jesus. Luke 1:26-28 , “And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.”
The other well-known archangel is Michael. Jude 1:9 ,  “Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.” Here it speaks of the spiritual battles that were fought in the spiritual realm which are invisible to our naked eyes (see also Daniel 10 ).
Good angels do not accept worship whereas fallen angels will deceive mankind into worshipping them and Satan. Revelation 22:8-9 demonstrate that good angels will point believers to Christ and God and not accept the worship of themselves, “And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.”
