NO SMALL MATTER -- PRESENT ATTACK IS ON THE WORD OF GOD!
“Just preach the gospel and don’t talk about the doctrine of VPP” is the cry of anti-VPP proponents! The Bible disagrees with this diabolical call! For the Bible says in Jude 1:3 , “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” [Emphasis added] Without the Word of God there is no gospel!
Let us set aside the doctrinal approach of Verbal Plenary Inspiration (VPI) and Verbal Plenary Preservation (VPP) for the moment and consider the practical implications of rejecting or accepting the doctrine of VPP. This is tabulated for comparison and clarification. [NOTE: The word “Bible” as used here refers to the Word of God in the original languages and NOT a translation.]

| Every verse is doubted! | Every verse is believed! |
| Every miracle in the Bible is questioned! | Every miracle in the Bible is fully accepted! |
| No gospel to preach for it comes from a Bible with mistakes! | The pure gospel is preached for it comes from a perfect Bible! |
| The BBK notes will have to teach that the Bible has mistakes! | The BBK notes will teach the perfect Bible! |
| Sunday School teachers will teach our children that the Bible has mistakes thus shaking their faith! | Sunday School teachers will teach our children that we have the perfect Bible thus strengthening their faith! |

SUMMARY -- This present attack on God’s Perfect Word is very serious. It is not a small matter! It concerns the PERFECT WORD OF GOD! It concerns all of us and our children and future generations. We are not defending a translation but the perfect Word of God in the original languages. Our translation is the Word of God that we can read. THE FOUNDATION OF OUR faith is NOT based upon a translation. My translation may not even exist but my faith can exist for it is based upon the perfect Bible! When the first Chinese or English man became a Christian there was no Bible in English or Chinese. OUR GOD GIVEN FAITH is based upon a perfect Bible (perfectly inspired and preserved in the original languages), the bedrock and anchor of our faith. If this Bedrock has mistakes we are finished! THIS IS WHERE THE ATTACK LIES WHEN VPP IS DENIED AND REJECTED!
By the Providential Hand of God the BOE of Calvary Pandan Bible-Presbyterian Church has unanimously passed the resolution (on 10th March 2008) affirming that Calvary Pandan will be known as “a perfect Bible (VPP) Bible-Presbyterian Church.” Thus all members of Calvary Pandan may confidently say and teach and believe that:
1. We hold in our hands a perfect Bible and this honours God and strengthens the faith of all believers!
2. We hold in our hands a Perfect Bible which is taught in the Perfect Bible itself!
3. We believe in VPP which upholds VPI and the Church Constitution and the Westminster Confession of Faith!
