Dear parents, please read this carefully and teach your children before they begin the game so they can reap the full benefits intended for this game.

OBJECTIVES OF GAME

1. Children will learn of sin and of their need for salvation in Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved)
2. Families and children can spend time learning the scriptures in a fun way.
3. Children can be more fruitfully occupied on the Lord’s Day.

KEY THOUGHTS OF GAME

• This game is about the journey of a Christian before he reaches heaven.
•  At times when he sins, he loses the joy of his salvation (slides down the snake).
• At times when he recalls the promises of God in Christ Jesus, he leads a victorious and abundant life (climbs up a ladder).
• The children must learn that that it is not by his effort /good works that he can arrive at heaven but by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. ( Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace through faith ;and that not of yourselves: It is the gift of God not of works lest any man should boast )
• By God’s providence, all reaches heaven at different timing.  Players need not be sad that they have not arrived at the last square. Teach the children that It is not by his goodness that someone arrives earlier.  All believers will eventually be saved.   ( Philippians 1:6  Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ)
• Those who arrived at heaven first will cheer those who are on their way there (Hebrews 12:1  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us)

RULES TO ENFORCE

1. Parents are to remind CHILDREN TO READ ALOUD the words on the square they land on.  This is to drill the words into their hearts.  For children who are non-reader, parents MUST read the words aloud to them.
2. Game only ends when ALL PLAYERS REACH ‘HEAVEN’. Make time to ensure the game finishes with everyone reaching the last square.  This is to teach the faithfulness of God (  A believer’s sin (sliding down the snake) will cause him to lose his joy and fellowship with God but not his salvation.
3. There will be no penalty for those who refuse to sing/read verses. Can encourage the player or ask others to help the player read/sing together.

FOR YOUNG CHILDREN/NON-READERS
An adult must play with children who are too young or are non-readers, by reading aloud to them, by teaching them to sing the choruses and by helping them count and move on the board.
